Joseph C. “Papa” Ornelas, 85, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Davis Hospice Center.
Papa was born September 14, 1930, in Ft. Collins, Colorado, son of the late Jesus Landeros and Theodora (Bustos) Ornelas.
Papa enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as a truck driver. He will be remembered as “Joe the Burrito Man” throughout the City of Cheyenne, as well as a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Papa is survived by three children, JoAnne Clark, Chris Ornelas and Terri Gleckler (Chris); seven sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Aurora Veronica (Gonzales) Ornelas; son, Steve J. Ornelas; and a sister.
A memory service will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
