Minnie Ethel French, 102, of Cheyenne passed away June 28, 2019 at Cheyenne Healthcare.’ Minnie was born April 21, 1917 in Kahoka, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph M. and Martha Ann (Fattig) McFarland. She Married Charles French and was a homemaker. Minnie is survived by a grandson, Kelly Joe Watson of Denver, Colorado; many nephews and nieces including “Billy” Virgil Leonard Payne of Cheyenne and Jerry and Jo Richardson of Clio, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles French; parents, Joseph M. and Martha Ann McFarland of Kahoka, Missouri; sons, Charles Leroy Watson of Fairbanks, Alaska and Donald Morgan Watson of Cheyenne; siblings, Johnny McFarland of Las Vegas, Nevada, Eldon McFarland of Hamilton, Illinois, Frances Belle Maynard of Cheyenne, Martha Ellen McGee of Keokuk, Iowa, Violet Ann Richardson of Clio, Iowa, Christine Toops-Orris of Missouri; half-sister, Laura Amelia Sanders. Visitation will be Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to Noon in Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in Beth El Cemetery.

Larry A. Poelma, 70, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Cheyenne, WY. Larry was born to Arnoul and Edna Poelma on June 18, 1949 in Cheyenne. He married Amy Murbach on June 11, 1994. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Wyoming Auto Racing Association. He is survived by his loving wife Amy Poelma of Carpenter; daughter, Nicolle (Glen) Wagner of Cheyenne, stepchildren, Amber (Dwayne) Korgan of Briggsdale, CO, and Chris (Xiomy) Butler of Windsor, CO; grandchildren, Cameron Cox, Jace Cox, Keira Wagner, Kaycie, Da Vanie, and Dylan; sisters, Jane (Bill) Lambert of Ft. Collins, Mary Hunter of Wichita, KS, and Carolyn (Mike) Madden of Cheyenne; brothers, Mike (Caroline) Poelma of Carpenter, Don (Gayle) Poelma of Cheyenne, Paul (Sharon) Poelma of Carpenter, and Edwin (Hope) Poelma of Carpenter;amd numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Cynthia Ogg, and brother’s in law Randy Hunter and Paul Ogg. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2-5:00 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased to be recited at 3:00 p.m. at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Pine Bluffs at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pine Bluffs Cemetery with a luncheon reception to follow. Our beautiful southern angel, Nana Kay Cook, 57, of Cheyenne, WY received her warrior wings on July 6, 2019. She was born on November 16, 1961. Anyone who knew Nana discovered quickly that she was a very passionate lady full of southern charm. She had quiet strength, and a strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her family, dogs, being outdoors with her husband, and had a passion for elephant rescue centers. She was very determined, hardworking and enjoyed her job at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for over twenty-three years. She is survived by her husband of thirty-two years Guy Cook Jr., and their two son’s Ty and Joshua Cook. A memorial gathering will held at Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home located at 2222 Russell Ave., Cheyenne, WY from 5p.m.-7p.m on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Darlene M. Bowman, 81, of Pine Bluffs passed away July 8, 2019 in Pine Bluffs. She was born September 17, 1937 in Sharpsburg, IA to Paul and Margaret McKay. She married Dale Bowman on July 28, 1959 in Tingley, IA. She was a homemaker and assisted Dale with his irrigation pivot business. She participated in the Non-Denominational Church. She is survived by her husband, Dale Bowman of Pine Bluffs; children Dave (Jane) Bowman of Burns, WY, Dean (Bryanna) Bowman of Pine Bluffs, Dotty (Ken) Stubbs of Casper and Lyle (Tina) Bowman of Albin, WY; siblings, Ken (Shirley) McKay of Cheyenne and Delores (Mark) Bowman of Egbert, WY; eight grandchildren and Nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Don and Richard McKay. Those who wish may contribute to Pine Bluffs Senior Center, Box 532, Pine Bluffs, WY 82082 Services will be Saturday July 27, 2019 at the Pine Bluffs Community Center. Rodger Dale Armstrong, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. Rodger was born to Richard and Goldie Armstrong in Mount Ayr, Iowa on October 19, 1943. Rodger retired as chief pilot for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. He is survived by his son, Robert (Desirae) Armstrong; daughter, Stephanie Hecht; grandchildren, Ryder Armstrong, Wyatt Armstrong, Evelyn Armstrong, and Tucker Hecht. In addition, he is survived by his close friend, Betty Armstrong and his sister, Lois Pitchfork. At Rodger’s request all services will be private. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Ronald John Schumacher, Sr. 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2019. He was born to Anthony Matthew and Dorothy “Doris” Schumacher on June 2, 1935 in Kenmare, North Dakota. Ronald was raised as a farmer, and attended St. Agnes Academy. Ronald met the love of his life, Annella Marie Kelsch while in school. They were married on July 2, 1956 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Linton, ND. The newlyweds were spotlighted on the Lawrence Welk Show during their honeymoon. Soon after their wedding, they moved to Moses Lake, WA for Ronald’s job at Boeing. Here, they welcomed their first son, John. Ronald moved his family back to Kenmare to work for Schlumberger. Here, Ronald welcomed his sons Daniel and Jamie. Ronald was transferred to Rock Springs, WY in 1960 when he began his career with the railroad. Here the young couple welcomed three sons; Robert, Tim and Ron Jr. Ron proudly assumed his position as an engineer where he continued for 38 years until his retirement in Rawlins. While working for the railroad, Ronald created Schu Trenching and taught all his sons the value and skill of hard work. While busy raising his family and working, Ronald was a dedicated and active member of the Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He also was very involved with the Rawlins Elks Club and Junior Old Timer’s. Even after retirement, Ronald continued working various jobs. Serving others throughout his life, Ronald was a generous, loving, humorous, and caring man. His last words to his wife of 63 years were “ You know that you’re my sweetheart and I love you!” Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Annella; sons, John (Kathy), Jamie (Kate), Robert (Lorrie), Tim, and Ron Jr. (Trish); grandchildren, Cody, Kaeleigh, Megan, Nicole, Luke, Brandon, Monica, Logan, Derek, Tyler, Matthew, Eric, Brian, Daniel, Brenda, Jon, Spencer, Cooper, Jacob, Kyle, and Brianne; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ronald is preceded in death by his son, Daniel James Schumacher; sister Marion; and brothers, Leo and Paul, and brother-in-law Raymond. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased will be recited at 3:00 p.m. at Schrader, Aragon, and Jacoby Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Glennis Fern (Strube) Harrison,84, a lifelong resident of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, went to her heavenly home on July 11,2019, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Glennis was born October 30, 1934 in Kimball, Nebraska to Charles and Leila Strube. Glennis grew up on a farm south of Pine Bluffs and attended school through the second grade in a one- room school house. She completed her education in the Pine Bluffs schools and graduated from Pine Bluffs High School as Valedictorian in 1952. Glennis attended Laramie County Community College and was in the first graduating class with an associate degree. Later in 1976, she completed her BA degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming. She was a substitute teacher in Laramie County School District No. 2 for many years. On August 16, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, John C. “Jack” Harrison at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church. Last year they celebrated their 65th anniversary. Together, she and Jack owned and operated Cable Television Systems in Wheatland, Torrington, Lingle, Guernsey, Fort Laramie, Hartville and Pine Bluffs. Pine Bluffs Cable TV System was the first and they operated it for nearly 50 years. She was a former honor recipient as Pine Bluffs Woman of the Year Award. Glennis was a life- long member of the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church serving as Trustee Chairperson, President and a member of the WSCS Evening Circle. She was a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher and Children’s Choir and Youth Director. She was also Director and a teacher of the Bluebirds of the Campfire Organization. Later in life, Glennis enjoyed being a youth mentor and cooking for her grandchildren. She also had a talent for painting with water color and has left many “masterpieces” behind to be enjoyed by her family and friends. Glennis is survived by her husband, John “Jack” Carlstrum Harrison, three daughters; Marjorie (Tony Crecelius), Debra (Merlyn Coffin), and Lisa (Jim Gardner) all of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Eight grandchildren; Brett Reher (Joe), Tyson Reher(Amanda), Christina Patterson( Sean), Briana Fuller (Paul), Jennifer Gorman( Stephen), Mathew Gardner(Samantha), Christopher Gorman (Maggie), Stephanie Gorman and two step grandchildren Dave Gorman, Jr. ( Kelly) and Angie Gorman. Ten great-grandchildren; Tatum and Grady Reher, Emma and Luke Patterson, Asher, Micah and Brycen Fuller, Braxton, Myles, and Annika Nelson. She is also survived by one sister, Phyllis Minnick and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her parents Charles and Leila Strube, brother Charles Strube, Jr and son-in-law David F. Gorman preceded her in death. A celebration of Glennis’s life will be Sunday, July 14, 2019, 2:30 p.m. at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Lesley Matschke and Pastor Gale Graves. Interment will follow at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schrader Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Those who wish, may contribute to the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church or the Davis Hospice Center.

Dr. Anthony G. Hillier, 55, of Cheyenne passed away July 9, 2019 in Cheyenne. He was born October 3, 1963 in Memphis, TN to Jerry and Betty Hillier. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an Emergency Room physician at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his son, Samuel Hillier of Tucson, AZ; and his mother Betty Dooley of Coldwater, MS. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael Wayne Hillier. With Dr. Hillier’s love of medicine and the outdoors, donations may be made to any charity that reflects his passions, or the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation, directed toward the Emergency Department.

Sue Baquet, the mother of Carol, Colleen, and Robert "Bobby" Baquet passed away on July 12, 2019 quite literally surrounded by her family, after a long fight to thrive. She was "29". Sue was born Adel Sue Thompson, on March 30, 1937 in Scottsbluff, NE. to Carroll and Marie Thompson. She was the eldest sister to Leon "Lee", and Katherine "Kitty" Thompson. Sue married to Dale Zier in 1957, and Robert "Bob" Baquet in 1964; together they raised Carol, Colleen, and Bobby. They were blessed with 6 Grandchildren; Nathan, Katherine, and Robert Clause; Jennifer, Suzanne, and Travis Jackson; Sam, and Nicolle Baquet; 11 Great Grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild on the way. Sue was a vibrant social butterfly who adored her family, always knew someone wherever she went, and she loved to travel! Shopping was her favorite pastime, but she was particularly proud of her time spent as an administrator for Western Nebraska Community College, at the Cougar bookstore. Sue was thrilled to be baptized into the Catholic Church later in life, which was something she had long aspired to do. As a result, she passed away peacefully without regrets and her advice for her surviving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was regarding career opportunities, education, and love; "When it's there, take it". A service was held Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Westlawn Cemetery in Gering Nebraska.

William E. “Willie” Roeseler, of Cheyenne, died on Monday, July 15, 2019 after succumbing to a difficult battle with COPD. Willie was born on June 27, 1931 in Cheyenne. He attended St. Mary's School, and graduated in 1949. In 1949, Willie went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad where he started as an apprentice electrician, and retired forty-two years later as a locomotive engineer. During his time at UP, Willie proudly served as Local Chairman, and Vice General Chairman for the United Transportation Union. Along with serving Local 28, he served as Delegate to four International Conventions. In 1954, Willie was drafted into the U.S. Army. He spent 15 months stationed in France as part of an Engineer Battalion before being honorably discharged in 1956. Upon leaving the service, Willie returned to Cheyenne. Willie's interested included aviation and cooking. He first soloed in 1950, then earned his private's pilots license. In 1988, Willie earned his Single Engine Seaplane rating. He also enjoyed flying his own Cessna 150 until 1997. In cooking, Willie won the Wyoming State Beef Cook-Off in 1983. He also attended the Cordon Bleu London School and the Ecole Des Artes Cuisinier in Lyon, France. Willie loved sharing his culinary talents with friends and neighbors. Willie is survived by his wife, Diana F. “Danny” Roeseler, sister Loretta Bonham of Missoula, MT, and three children, Adam Roeseler of Hermosa, SD; Steve (Kelly ne O'Connor) Roeseler of Atoka, TN; and Sarah (Dale) Brandt of St. Libory, IL; seven grandchildren, Ian Plamann, Kayla Roeseler Hammond, Nicholas Roeseler, Brandon Roeseler, Emily Cohen, Elissa Cohen, and August Brandt; and one great grandchild, Liam Hammond. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Sarah (ne Powell) Roeseler of Cheyenne, and a brother James Powell of Ireland. A Funeral Liturgy will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Cathedral with interment to follow in Olivet Cemetery, with military honors. Contributions can be made to the Cheyenne Botanical Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Gloria N. Martinez, 72, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born December 25, 1946 in Holman, New Mexico, a daughter of Pacomio and Rumaldita (Branch) Sandoval. Gloria loved to laugh and she was often the life of the party. She especially loved to be near her family and friends. She will be remembered as a free spirit who enjoyed flowers and cheering for the Denver Broncos. Gloria is survived by her son, Leroy Lujan; daughter, Valerie (Dustin) Roybal; brothers, Pacomio (Jenny) Sandoval, Celestino Sandoval and Alex Sandoval; sisters, Nancy (Esteban) Rios and Rita (Danny) Ortega; grandson, Phillip (Taylor) Roybal; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Lujan; second husband, Louis Martinez; and brother, William Sandoval. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment to follow in Olivet Cemetery.


Delbert Sibert

Delbert Dean Sibert, 78, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away July 24, 2019 peacefully at home after a long illness with his family around him. He was born June 16, 1941, in Superior, NE, to Raymond and Mabel (Killough) Sibert, the third of four children. He was raised on the family farm in Jewell County, Kansas. He graduated from Superior High School in 1958. Delbert wed Melba Bridwell September 5, 1958, and they had three children: Monte Dean, Kelly Jean and Scott Delbert. He worked for General Dynamics on the Atlas Missile’s in Cheyenne and Nebraska and at the Ideal Cement in Superior, NE. Delbert worked for Mountain Bell and retired from AT&T after over 25 years in Wyoming, California and Colorado. Delbert enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends in Wyoming. He was scoutmaster when his boys were in boy scouts and little league baseball coach. His greatest joy was spending time in Vedauwoo and Elk mountain hunting and riding 4-wheelers. During his retirement, Delbert loved family time: Oregon and Nebraska family reunions and visiting his brother and sisters. But time with his children and their families was most precious. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Sibert and sister Betty Oltman. He is survived by his wife, Melba and three loving children: Monte Sibert, Kelly (Edward) Maneth and Scott Sibert; sister Margaret Sund; six grandchildren, Shawna (Jason) Palmer, Mandy Morrell, Kyleen (Joe) Ashbaugh, Michelle (Paul) Freeman, Justin Sibert and Caleb Maneth, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, sisters-in-law: Shirley Augustin and Beverly (Gary) Grunkemeyer. Those who wish may contribute to the Davis Hospice Center or Charity of their choice. A viewing will be held in Cheyenne at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home Sunday, July 28th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Services will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Superior, NE Tuesday, July 30th at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Superior.

Gloria Ann DeFreece, 86, was born on December 26, 1932 and joined her late husband, Walter DeFreece, on July 22, 2019. Gloria is survived by her three children; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard “Rick” DeFreece; and her beloved husband. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Thornton, CO, and she will be laid to rest Saturday, August 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery with Pastor Lesley Matschke officiating. Mary Anne Selway, 75, of Cheyenne passed away July 23, 2019 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 31, 1944 in Rochester, NY to Frank and Peggy Miller. She received a BA in Social Work from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and soon joined VISTA, teaching on the Lame Deer Reservation in Montana. In 1969 she married Peter Selway. She helped institute the Montessori School Program in New Hampshire and later worked as a revenue agent for the federal government. She was known for her incredible kindness, which was complemented by a brilliant mind. She is survived by her brother, Jack (Ginny) Miller; her son, Hugh (Tracy) Selway; grandchildren, Rhys and Madeline Selway; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Peggy, her husband Peter and her brother David. Michael F. Madlen, 84, of Cheyenne passed away July 24, 2019 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born May 17, 1935 in South Bend, IN to Marshal and Madeline Madlen. He married Phyllis McDonald on September 26, 1963 in Anchorage, AK. He was a photogrammetric engineer with the Wyoming Department of Transportation. He was a veteran, having served in the US Navy, and was an avid photographer, artist, rock and fossil hunter, weaver, reader, lover of small children and pets. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Madlen; children, Dale (Dani) Madlen, Kaye (Stewart) Black, Sharon (Tracy) Brown, Yvonne (Jerry) Sheffield, and Kenneth (Pam) Madlen; sisters, Sally Purks and Karen Schweiker; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and private family services will be held.

Michael E. Carter, 52, of Cheyenne passed away July 28, 2019 in Cheyenne. He was born January 25, 1967 in Cheyenne to Thomas and Ruth Carter. He was a gifted song writer, inspired by music, and was a leadman in the bands, Citadel and Nemesis. He was a person who could do an excellent job in refinishing furniture. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Kyle) Milsap of Washington; mother, Ruth Siler of Cheyenne; father, Thomas Carter of Lubbock, TX; siblings, Thomas (Donna) Carter, Jr. of Cheyenne, Brenda (Mike) Stadnik of Cheyenne, Jeff Carter of Sheridan, WY and Jennifer (David) Smith of Williston, ND; aunt Ricki of Cheyenne and numerous nieces and nephews. Those who wish may contribute to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at 3001 Douglas Street.
