Orville Baker

Orville Cantril Baker, 93, of Colorado Springs, CO, died October 14, 2015, at the Brookdale Village at Skyline, under the care of Brookdale Hospice. He had a great smile, a firm handshake, a generous spirit and he never met a stranger. He was born March 2, 1922, in Norton, KS, the eldest son of Orville Van Baker and Mae Brautigam Baker. In his youth he was involved in 4-H, played football, and was the cipher champion in his school. After graduating from high school in Almena, KS, he attended Kansas State University. With the start of WWII, he took a sabbatical from school, volunteered and trained as a pilot. He was a member of the 8th Air Force, 445th bombing group flying B-24’s. He flew 35 missions over Europe. After the war, Orville continued his studies at Kansas State graduating with a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Engineering, While at college, he met and was smitten with a dark-haired beauty from Sawyer, KS, Pearl Lilliequist. They married September 12, 1948, and celebrated over 61 years together. In 1949, Orville started work with Deere and Company as a territory manager, finally retiring in 1979. Not one to give up working after retirement, he kept busy selling insurance for New York Life, and real estate for RE/MAX Capitol Properties, farming with Dick Barnes, and doing lawn care and snow removal for all his neighbors. Orville was a golfer, bridge player, and a grandpa extraordinaire. He was partial to extra dry martinis, straight up with three olives. He and Pearl loved to travel the world which included cruises, family and golfing trips, 8th Air Force reunions, but perhaps his most treasured memory was the Wyoming Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. Orville was member of the Cheyenne York Rite Masonic Temple #1, Korein Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S., the Elks, the American Legion, Military Officers Association of America, Daedalians, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, RSVP Volunteer Program, and the First United Methodist Church of Cheyenne. Orville is survived by his daughters, Paula Harris and husband, Phil, of Encampment, WY, and Carol Merrion and her husband, Rob, of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Liz Fields and her husband, Nick, and their three children of Ocala, FL, Jeff Harris and his wife, Mary of Laramie, WY, Katie Merrion of Colorado Springs, CO, and Mike Merrion of Pittsburgh, PA. Orville was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; his parents, Orville and Mae Baker; his siblings, Henry and Kelcey Baker and Dorothy Brooks. A celebration of life will be held April 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Mark Marston officiating. A reception will follow at Allison Hall. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.


Donland Greer

Donland Gene Greer, 89 of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2015. Donland was born in Bethel, Kansas, on December 20, 1925, to Clarence Greer and Martha Tretter Greer. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the United States Army. He married Maud Garver and they had four children, Kirkland Greer, Cindy Greer, Ginny Greer and Kendal Greer. He loved the spirit of children, family, horses, building homes, and the turning of the trees on Fall River Road in autumn. Donland is survived by three children, Cindy Greer of New York City, NY, Ginny Brown of Littleton, CO, and Kendal Greer of Aurora, CO; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kirkland Greer. A memory service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the Schrader Reception Center. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Elmer Schneider

Elmer Schneider, 86, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016, at the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins. Elmer was born December 19, 1929, in Longmont, Colorado, a son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Oakes) Schneider. Elmer served as a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard from 1948 to 1984, retiring from service as a Lieutenant Colonel. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fly fishing and was a Wyoming Cowboy enthusiast. Elmer is survived by two sons, Roger Schneider and companion, Debbie Engstrom, of Rawlins, WY, and Craig Schneider and wife, Pam, of Kittery, ME; a sister, Orion Gardner of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Peter, Elizabeth, Ally, Kaitlyn and Austin; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Betty Jo Schneider; and ten brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne.

Ilene E. Hurdle, 90, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Sunday morning, October 16, 2016, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Ilene was born February 4, 1926, in Prairieburg, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Beth El Cemetery.

Ivan Stoner

Ivan D. Stoner, 90, of Hillsdale, Wyoming, died Monday afternoon, October 17, 2016, in Cheyenne. Ivan was born December 25, 1925, in Siam, Iowa, and grew up in Hillsdale, Wyoming, graduating from high school there in 1944. He married June Milburn on December 14, 1946. He was a member of Hillsdale Methodist Church for 74 years. He worked in maintenance for the Union Pacific Railroad for more than 30 years. He loved repairing and making things work. Ivan was a member of the Burns Masonic Lodge #41 for over 50 years. He loved music and singing in the church choir. He didn’t know a stranger. His greatest joy was helping his family and was proud of all of them. Ivan is survived by his children, Kathleen (David) Cromley, Steven (Carolyn) Stoner, Edwin (Patty) Stoner, and Kristine Dunlap; brother, Donald (Joan) Stoner; sisters, Viva Reese, Norma (Joe) Olguin, and Pat (Tim) Hood; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, June; one brother; and one sister; and one great-great grandson. A memory service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Center.

Peggy Pratt, 69, of Cheyenne died on December 15, 2016 in Cheyenne. She was born February 13, 1947 in San Antonio, TX to Charles and Ednavene Berger. She married Robert Pratt on May 19, 1967 in Tonopah, NV. She was an avid watcher of religious programs, Tomorrow’s World and Jack Van Impe. She is survived by her children, Robert (Nicci Dorn) Pratt, Jr. and Lenelle (Jay) Anderson; grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Tyler Pratt, Alissa Pratt, Dakota Pratt, Anthony Dorn and Tony Gordon; great-grandchildren, Travis Pratt, Aiden Dorn, Ashton Dorn, Austin Smith and Tyler Pratt, Jr.; brother, Raymond (Lydia) Berger; nephew, Charlie Gomez; and niece, Hollie Berger. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Those who wish may contribute to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Bobby L. Coppedge, 73, of Cheyenne passed away on December 16, 2016 in Cheyenne. He was born May 1, 1943 in Vandalia, IL to Mr. and Mrs. Everett Coppedge. He was a truck driver and a veteran of the US Navy. He is survived by his daughters, Shawna Zautcke of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Bowen of Dalton, GA and Stacie Peck of Dallas, TX; ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Linda Doty of Vancouver, WA. Those who wish may contribute to the Wounded Warrior Project. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park.

Heather Pamela O’Brien-Chaney, 44, died December 16, 2016, at her home in Cheyenne. She was born in Warren, Michigan, on July 21, 1972, to Eugene and Pamela O’Brien. She attended East High and LCCC. She is survived by her husband, James Chaney whom she married in May 2016; daughter, Grace Owen; mother, Pam Pallak; brothers, Noah O’Brien (Geneva Hobbs), J. O’Brien (Heather Raimondo), and Jeffery A. Pallak (Lori Baird); as well as 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene; her dad, Jeff Pallak; and grandparents. Services will be held at a later date. Friends may contribute to Grace’s education fund at 923 McGovern, Cheyenne WY 82001.

Capt. John B. “Jack” Allis, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday morning, December 19, 2016, in Laramie, Wyoming. Jack was born on October 25, 1929, in Springfield, Massachusetts, a son of the late Bert E. and Inez (Richardson) Allis. Jack’s education was extensive, earning degrees in physical education from the University of Rhode Island, physical therapy and education from New York University, public health administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and gerontology from Rocky Mountain Gerontology Center from the University of Utah. Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps prior to serving in the United States Public Health Service where he retired as a Captain following 22 years of active duty on June 1, 1975. He earned a number of awards and honors including commendations from the United States Public Health Service Hospital and the American Public Health Association, and Meritorious Service Medal from the Surgeon General relating to Chronic Disease Control and Medicare. Jack was very active in numerous organizations including the Military Officers Association, Navy League, Commissioned Officers Association of U.S. Public Health Association, National Association of Uniform Services, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Antique Automobile Club of America, Oak Spokes Club, Life Member of American Physical Therapy Association, Oak Spokes Chapter, and an Elected Fellow of the American Public Health Association. He was also active as a 32nd Degree Mason of St. John’s Lodge #1, A.F. & A.M. of Providence, Rhode Island. Jack is survived by his children, Aura Lee Wymore of Cheyenne, and John Fletcher Allis of St. Petersburg, FL. He is preceded in death by two sisters. A memory service with military honors will be celebrated on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home (2222 Russell Avenue). A private interment will be held at a later date at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, Colorado. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Jack’s memory may be made to the Shrine Club Hospital Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 20826, Cheyenne, WY 82003.

Mamie I. Quintana, 85, of Cheyenne passed away on December 20, 2016 in Cheyenne. She was born May 15, 1931 in Akron, CO to Alanzo and Clarabelle Rash. She had been employed by Loveland Packing and was also a foster mother. She is survived by her children, Kathryn Castaneda and Sandra Aranda of Cheyenne, Daniel Quintana of Loveland, CO and Cecilia Guerrero of Mexico City, Mexico; brother, Dale Rash of Palermo, CA; grandchildren, Renee Malone, Daniel Corcilius, Tim Corcilius, Jamie Cordona, Mamie Corcilius, Milissa Corcilius, Michael Castaneda, Adriana Chavarria, Fernando Aranda, Jr., Eva Aranda, Diana Villa, Gabriela Guerrero, David Guerrero; 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Corcilius; son, John Corcilius; one brother and 2 sisters. Visitation will be Friday 10:00 a.m. to noon and services at 1:00 p.m. in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home with a reception in the Schrader Reception Center. Private interment will be in Beth El Cemetery.

Jeannine M. Anderson, 88, of Cheyenne passed away on December 20, 2016 at Davis Hospice Center. She was born November 23, 1928 in Green River, WY to William H. and Ava. M. McAllister. She married Jim Anderson on September 23, 1979 in Cheyenne. She worked for Sundstrand Corporation for over 20 years and the State of Wyoming. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, American Legion Post #6 Auxiliary and Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by her nephew and his wife, Patrick Anderson and Pamela Watkins of Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Donations in Jeannine’s memory may be made to Davis Hospice Center or American Legion Post #6. Sandra J. Clark, 78, of Cheyenne passed away on December 22, 2016 at Golden Peaks Care in Fort Collins, CO. She was born September 16, 1938 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Loris and Margaret Marshall. She married Jim Clark on November 29, 1959. She was a nurse’s aide and a member of Miracle Valley Church. She is survived by her husband, Jim Clark of Cheyenne; children Linda Cathcart of Carpenter, WY and Gene Clark of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Carey Kreiling of Bixby, OK, Adam Stephen of Greeley, CO, Jared Evans of Cheyenne and Cory Stephen of Loveland, CO; siblings, Sheila Misplay of Texas, Barbara Costello of Broomfield, CO and Jerry Marshall of Sterling, CO and 7 great-grandchildren. Harold “Harry” Pool, 61, of Cheyenne passed away December 25, 2016 in Cheyenne. Harry was born April 20, 1955 in Port Hueneme, CA. He married Terri Nutton on November 7, 1975 in Abilene, TX. He retired as a SMSGT from the US Air Force and later was a controller for Echostar and a private mail carrier for the US postal Service. He was a member of the Wyoming Harley Owners and Riding Enthusiasts. Harry was a kind and giving person to everyone he came across. He is survived by his wife, Terri Pool of Cheyenne; son, Shane Pool of Cheyenne; daughter, Stacy Pool of Cheyenne; mother, Marcine Loshbaugh of Kingman, AZ; father, Bruce Loshbaugh of Cheyenne; siblings, Hal Pool of Kingman, Amye MacNeil of El Cajon, CA, Delbert Pool of Mesa, AZ, David Loshbaugh of Cheyenne and Wayne Holst of Glendale AZ. Donations in Harry’s memory may be made to the Harold Pool Memorial Fund at Blue Federal Credit Union. Carrol P. Orrison, 87, of Cheyenne and Casper passed away on December 25, 2016 in Cheyenne. He was born May 19, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK to Carl and Edyth Orrison. He was the owner of Casper Beverage in Casper and former owner of Orrison Distributing in Cheyenne and Glenwood Springs, CO. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32nd degree Mason, Cowboy Joe Club, Casper Chamber of Commerce, National Beer Wholesalers and was a past board member, Wyoming Beer Distributers Association, Board Member of Equality State Bank, Wyoming State legislator for 3 terms, Military Affairs Committee, Pilots Association of America, Wyoming Board of Aviation, Wyoming State Board of Equalization (appointed by Gov. Herschler) Cheyenne Sheriff’s Posse, Volunteer of Cheyenne Frontier Days and HEELS, and was an active Harley Davidson rider. He was a delegate for Wyoming to the Democratic National Convention, and was the Chairman of Wyoming DNC for a period of time. He is survived by Barbara Orrison of Cheyenne; son and daughter in law, Richard and Janet Orrison of Carbondale, CO, grandchildren, Rachael Orrison Clark of Cheyenne, Stephenie Holmes of Denver, Mark Holmes of Cheyenne, Richard McElroy of Denver, Angela Akodu of Jacksonville, FL; devoted friend and companion, Margaret “Maggie” Perrott of Cheyenne and her daughter, Lisa (Randy) O’Dell of Cheyenne and her grandchildren James O’Dell and Kassie Moser of Cheyenne and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edyth Orrison; daughter, Debra Orrison Holmes, and a twin brother, Carl Orrison, Jr.; and Maggie’s son, Chad V. Shunn. Carrol touched so many lives with his generosity and kindness, and will be deeply missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in his memory to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Private family services will be held. Dorothy L. Pruter, 81, of Cheyenne died December 29, 2016 at LifeCare Center of Cheyenne. She was born May 24, 1935 in Natoma, KS to Hubert and Eula (Marcotte) Rathbun. Before retiring she was an office assistant for Global E Mobile Home Park. She is survived by her children, Mike (Peggy) Pruter of Cheyenne, Ken (Cindy) Pruter of Omaha, Vicki (Ron) Cooper, and Cathy (Dean) Peck of Cheyenne; her mother Eula of Natoma, KS; brothers, James (Virginia) Rathbun, Leonard (Joan) Rathbun, Arthur (Charlene) Rathbun, KS; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Hubert Rathbun; one granddaughter, Lindsay Pruter. Those who wish may contribute to the charity of their choice. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Schrader Reception Center. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.

Col. Robert "Bob" Boese

Col. Robert A. Boese, USAF (Ret.) passed away December 29, 2016, in Davis Hospice Center from mesothelioma cancer. Col. “Bob” Boese was born December 13, 1935, in Aurora, Indiana. Bob served 30 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1983. His career began with the Matador Missile followed by the Mace and Minuteman. His assignment at F.E Warren included OMMS Commander, Deputy Base Commander and Deputy Commander for Maintenance. He was a private pilot, enjoyed reading, computers, fly fishing, target shooting and his Mustang GT. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jon Robert; mother, Marion Jackson; and brother, Eric Jackson. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Nancy; sons, Steve, Jim (Ann) and Bob (Kendra); grandchild, Trenton; and sister, Janice Lowry (Harve). A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at High Plains Chapel, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Please contact Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home if access to Warren Air Force Base is needed. Military Honors to follow at Beth El Cemetery.
